Main moments
Some interesting findings:
- The majority of Norwegians (60%) want to either keep or increase the current level of aid.
- Clean water and hunger and health and quality of life are the topics of highest priority among the population (across political affiliation)
- “More immediate material considerations such as hunger, water, poverty, and health are ranked as more important than normative goods such as democracy, education, and equality.”
- Most (54%) believe that Norwegian aid should be spent entirely or mainly on what benefits people in developing countries.
- Over 50% choose either “We have an opportunity to help people in need and poverty” or “It is our duty to contribute” as the main reason they support Norwegian aid.
