Langsikt is looking for a new general director - Mofoss lands international job

Eirik Mofoss is stepping down as CEO of Langsikt today. He is simultaneously taking on a role as an independent special advisor to Erna Solberg, the incoming Chair of the Board of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Mofoss will continue as a member of Langsikt’s board.

“Eirik has built Langsikt from an idea to ten full-time positions in four years. He has created a new think tank that sets the agenda in the debate on aid, preparedness, and artificial intelligence. We are pleased that he will continue to be part of the board,” says Christer Tryggestad, Chair of the Board at Langsikt, regarding the departure.

“The Global Fund has helped save 70 million lives since 2002. Now, it must adapt to global cuts in development financing and geopolitical challenges. This is one of the most important tasks in international development right now, and I look forward to contributing. Fortunately, Langsikt remains strong even without me,” says Eirik Mofoss, outgoing CEO.

Langsikt is now advertising the position of CEO. The board will consider both internal and external candidates. Until a new leader is in place, the board has appointed Lotte Skolem, currently Langsikt’s Head of Emerging Technologies, as acting CEO for the rest of the year. Skolem joined Langsikt in June 2026. She holds a degree in nanotechnology from NTNU and has a background from Boston Consulting Group and Aker BioMarine.

Mofoss founded Langsikt in 2023 together with Aksel Braanen Sterri. Sterri remains the organization’s Chief Academic Officer.

It is entirely in the spirit of Langsikt that Eirik is seizing this chance. At the same time, these will be big shoes to fill for whoever takes over the leadership role.”, says Aksel Braanen Sterri, Chief Academic Officer at Langsikt.
