Welcome to Climate Night with Long Sight.

In the last ten years, Norway has had five climate committees who has studied and described what Norway needs to do in order to adapt to the climate targets. But we're still not on track. Long Term has gone through the recommendations of these committees, and assessed how much is actually followed up by politicians. The selections we have looked at are:

  1. Green Tax Commission (2015)
  2. Climate Risk Committee (2018)
  3. Climate Change Committee (2020)
  4. Committee on Climate Finance (2023)
  5. Committee on Climate Change 2050 (2023)

The event starts with a panel discussion with committee leaders Kristin Halvorsen (Climate Change Committee 2020) and Martin Skancke (Climate Change Committee 2050 and Climate Risk Committee), as well as member of the Green Tax Commission, Knut Einar Rosendahl. The panel discussion is followed by political debate on what is the way forward with:

  • AP: Astrid Hoem - State Secretary KLD
  • MDG: Une Bastholm - Former MDG Chair and Parliamentary Representative
  • V: Sveinung Rotevatn - Deputy V and parliamentary representative
  • SV: Lars Haltbrekken - Deputy SV and parliamentary representative
  • H: TBD

Sign up for event at the bottom of the page! The memo is sent out to all enrollees on the day, and published here.
