Join molecular biologist and science communicator Sigrid Bratlie on a dive into the search for answers to one of the great mysteries of our time: What triggered the covid pandemic? What on the surface appeared to be an obvious case that the contagion started in a wet market in Wuhan turned out to obscure a geopolitical thriller of historical dimensions. A scandal that is about to be rolled up in real time.

With a wealth of sources, popular science, and systematic investigations of science, intelligence, journalism, and other information, Bratlie shows in his new book why a lab leak is a likely explanation for the pandemic's origins, and how some have gone to great lengths to prevent the case from being investigated. The book also tells the story of how Bratlie herself found herself in the firing line when she publicly challenged the prevailing narrative of how the pandemic started. She uses the case and her experiences to discuss fundamental questions about, among other things, the relationship between science and politics, the importance of trust and the role of social media and the press in dealing with important societal issues.

Welcome to book launch and conversation between Sigrid Bratlie, Senior Advisor in Lang, and doctor and social debater Kaveh Rashidi at Kulturhuset in Oslo!
